Halis and I are so excited to announce that we are in the beginning stages of adopting our second child from Haiti!
Though we have always known that we would pursue another adoption, we have been unsure of the timing - until now. We feel strongly that now is the time ... and we are beginning to get very excited (as though we just found out that we are "a little bit pregnant").
So, here is what we know so far ...
* We plan to adopt an infant boy.
* We plan to pursue a child from the Petits Anges de Chantal orphanage in Haiti.
* We will have our homestudy updated by International Adoption Services Center, Inc.
* We will not use an agency to complete the adoption, as we feel confident that we know how to navigate the system with the help of Marie (director of PAC) and other adoption connections that we have made in the past.
* We will need to complete our dossier in a timely manner so that Halis can hand deliver it to the orphanage director on a weekend trip to Haiti.
* We will definitely need to fund raise for this adoption!
* We will likely set up a new web blog to chronicle our second adoption journey ... but will still post milestones & updates here as well.
So, there it is ... our adoption plan thus far. Now we just have to think on a name to call our as-yet-unknown-son. We knew Isaac's name long before we knew him ... and often used it to speak out loud to him through the Universe. I have some thoughts about a name for our next little guy ... but will keep them to myself until Daddy and I have a chance to feel them out.
