A Good Vintage

My sewing machine was my grandmother's and I suspect it is older than me... I had a scare with it this week when it would only sew straight lines and not zigzags, a huge problem for applique!

We figured out the problem but it prompted me to download a manual for it, something I have been meaning to do for a while. It was a lovely surprise to see the manual cover is made up of applique letters like the t-shirts I sell.

Inspired by this blast from the past and the lovely vintage items we saw on the weekend, I tackled our local op shops today. With baby in tow I couldn't have a proper dig, but I still found some treasures for my big girl and some remnants of fabric I think I will be able to find projects for - four pieces came to $2.20!
