CardMaker Magazine + Card Giveaway!

 

Ann Martin from All Things Paper is doing a giveaway this month! Yay! And I'm joining it! Yup! It's just too good to miss....so I'm entering it to try my luck! I love what she is giving away too.......it's a handmade quilled card she created and a card magazine. It's the only American magazine that features quilling in it and offers a variety of quilling techniques in it too.

The card is so cute! Especially the 3 little chicks she made using the rick rack ribbons. That's a very cool idea! :)

Giveaway prizes posted!

Phew! I'm so happy today coz all the giveaway cards are done and posted! Well to be honest I only posted 10 prizes today to 10 of the winners because I only managed to get only 10 of them to contact me back  so far with their particulars. I'm still waiting for the other 2 winners to reply my message.

I can't believe that it's over.........the giveaways has come to an end. No more after this.  Felt a little sad all of a sudden huhuhu. Oh well.....it had to end one day. Hopefully someday I'll do it again when the timing is right hehehe.

I must say I love the stamping part! Stamping the wordings inside the card was fun! haha! Super easy of course. :D 

I hope all the cards will arrive to all the winners safely.......I would hate it if any gone missing in it's journey to it's destination. There has been cases before where things like that happened.....so, I'm praying that  for this final giveaway all will be running smoothly.

Preparing the prizes

The results of my December 2010 blog giveaway were announced yesterday afternoon and today I'm in the process of completing the prizes for all the 12 lucky winners. :)

I managed to quill all the parts for the cards, i.e the head and body of the birds, the branch and the leaves. They are now just waiting to be arranged on the cards. Can't wait to get them all done and posted next week. ;)

One valuable lesson I've learned from doing all these giveaways last year is that I get to practice making the same card design over and over again hehehe.......kinda feel like a factory sometimes hehehe......but of course when it comes to handmade products, you can never get them to look EXACTLY the same. There will always be something different here and there. It's inevitable.

A giveaway!!! From Miyyah@Kertas!!! Woohoo! I've been waiting for Miyyah to do a giveaway for quite sometime now hehehe! I thought I should try my luck even though I know it's not going to be easy for me to win it. I've been holding giveaways for one whole year at my own blog so I thought to myself.......part of my new year resolution is to join as many giveaways as I can for a change! haha! And this is a start! ;).

Just look at that beautiful photo album she decorated with those quilled decorations. So beautiful! :) She said that the photo album she's giving away won't be the exact same design though.......but something that looks similar to the photo above. Plus, the quilling strips she is using for this particular design will be 1mm in size instead of the usual 3mm paper strips. So that would be really nice to see! Can't wait! :)

It's a pretty easy giveaway to join as well......so why not? I'm already a loyal follower, and have been admiring her work ever since I found out about her blog in 2009 if I'm not mistaken. Just looking at her blog for the first time inspired me so much to do quilling. I didn't have anyone to teach me how to do quilling in the beginning so I studied her blog in and out! haha! Initially, her tutorials helped me understand what quilling is all about and I first knew about the mini paper shredder from her blog as well. I never knew such a machine existed if it was not for her...haha! I mean, I know about paper shredders before.....but a "MINI" paper shredder??? Who knew! hehe! The mini paper shredder really helped me a lot with my quilling adventures. I just can't quill without it now! :D

Ready for delivery!

Yes!!! They are all done!! All 11 quilled teddy bear cards are done and ready for delivery! :) I'm so happy! All I need to do now is make the pink envelopes. Easy.. :). I plan on doing the delivery either tomorrow or on Monday. I really hope all the cards will reach the winners safely. I hate it if it gets lost along the way or anything like that. It would be such a waste. So hopefully the winners have given me the correct address so that it will be a smooth delivery.

I really enjoyed making the teddy bears. So much fun! No more pink teddy bears left in my collection.......I need to make more after this hehehe. :) I must say, stamping the wordings is really nice. I like stamping now. It's fast, easy and you can never go wrong with it. :) 

Well gotta go.....I'm off to make the envelopes now. :)

White Nativity set

Isn't it a beauty? I won this 3D white nativity set quilled by Miss Cheryl of Cards by Cheryl. I can't believe I will be receiving this white nativity set soon! I am still amazed by what happened. I entered the blog candy at the last minute and I found out the next day that I won. This is really sweet because I've never won anything , I mean I've never won any craft work from any craft artist before.....locally or internationally.

Miss Cheryl hosted a blog candy last month and I wasn't even aware of it until the very last day. Been extremely busy with work as usual has led me to forget important occasions and missed a few good opportunities as well that came along my way. I guess it was written that I would catch the blog candy on time before it ended and submitted my entry and be part of the running to win this amazing white nativity set.

Even though I don't celebrate Christmas, I do appreciate good art and craft skills from fellow artist who create artwork using the quilling technique which I have come to adore very very much. I myself have never done 3D quilling before and I really admire those who have done so and are doing it so very well too. :) I just might give it a try myself one day. Who knows ya......inspired by the white nativity set, I think I just might! hehe!

Results of the October 2010 Blog Giveaway!

Alhamdulillah, I've managed to check all the entries of last month's blog giveaway this evening. I must say that the entries for last month's giveaway is the highest so far! More than 100 people entered! Wow! Thank you so much to everyone who tried their luck at winning the quilled hot air balloon card. I really really appreciate it! :)

I've already finished making all the 10 cards for the 10 lucky winners! Woohoo! So happy about that! Usually I would take a long time to get them done and posted.....but this time I managed to get it done on time :). Last September, two winners didn't claim their prize and one winner didn't receive the prize I posted to her huhuhuuhu.....I was really sad about that. Especially since I took the trouble to make the card myself.....it's time consuming etc etc....so it's such a waste when the prize didn't reach it's destination. Since I sent it using normal mail, I couldn't track and trace it. I wish I could use the registered post service, but that would cost a lot of money especially since I have to post it to 10 people. So I really hope that this time around, Pos Malaysia won't cause anymore trouble and I also hope that the winners will make sure they give me the correct mailing address to avoid any mailing problems.

October's prizes done!

Finally! I managed to complete all the 10 quilled hot air balloon cards. Yay!! I really enjoyed making these babies. I'm going to miss them a lot once I post them to the 10 lucky winners hehehe. :D

To be honest, what I enjoyed most when making these cards is actually the part where I have to make the clouds. I love making them. So white....so pure....and so so so easy hehehehe! The difficult part would be making the hot air balloons. It's quite tricky, especially when I need to glue the balloons on the card. It gets messy, luckily the mess made by the white glue does not show much on the paper once it's all dried up. Another problem I faced when making these hot air balloons is that I kept making them in different sizes. I couldn't make them in the same size. So I had to be careful with that.....gotta measure it so that at least, the sizes are nearly the same if not exactly the same. 

I already have something in mind for the November's giveaway. The idea is there.......but the complete design isn't there yet. It's coming...................SOON! ;)

Making quilled clouds

What have I been busy doing lately? Making clouds! Yup! I've finished making all the hot air balloons and now I'm trying to finish up making the clouds for the giveaway cards. I've just realised that I have to quill 180 white circles to make 30 clouds. Gosh! That's just for 10 cards. But since I've gotten orders for this card design as well from other customers, so that means I have to make more clouds. Luckily they are not so difficult to make hehehe....

At first I wanted to make them using the needle tool but since there are just too many of them for me to make, I decided to make them using the slotted tool. Much easier for me and a little faster too :). Thought of using the bamboo skewer slotted tool but that one is somehow no longer a favourite of mine lately. I need to repair it so that the center of the quilled circles would look neater. 

I'm trying to finish making these giveaway cards before the giveaway ends. The fact is, I'm trying to get them done by tonight......but but but....huhuhu......looks like they are still not done yet,  there's still just a little bit more before they are all done......and I still got envelopes to make though.  :) Back to my working table!! Ciao! ;)

Alhamdulillah.....after struggling to get all the 9 pieces of cards for the giveaway done this week, I managed to post 5 of them today to the 5 lucky winners. I still have 4 more that I have not posted because I didn't get any respond from 4 other winners since I last contacted them.  But I checked again this evening and saw 2 more that responded....yay! So that means there are 2 more who didn't. I wonder why.......don't they want the prize?
