Quilled Christmas tree
6:32 PM
HANDMADE
*This is another clear stamp (Christmas wordings) that I got when I bought a craft magazine. :)

Small and cute little Christmas trees lined up! Another simple Christmas card I made last night. I wanted to make something really really fancy but I just don't have the time. So I thought of something really simple for my green and red theme Christmas card.
I love the clear stamp I got from the craft magazine I bought some time ago. I wanted to use another design but when I checked, the clear stamp was not usable at all huhuhu. Couldn't print out anything out of it. Luckily I got another one left, which is this "Merry Christmas" wording for me to use. Sometimes free stuff are not always in good quality ya huhuhu. If we are lucky, we could get something very beneficial for us to use, if not......it's just fit for the rubbish bin.
I've been observing a few of my fellow quillers online who have tried quilling using monochromatic colors. It's just awesome! I love how they combine the different hues of colors when they make their quilled flowers, leaves etc etc. I myself don't have that many choices of colored paper available at home. And it's not easy to find them here in Alor Setar either. So, I just make use of what I have available and make the best of it. I tried making the Christmas trees using 3 different hues of green. I liked how it turned out! From bright green to dark green :). The shape of the tree reminds me of an Elf's hat! haha! :D

Snowman

* I got this clear stamp (Christmas wordings) free when I bought a craft magazine! I'm so excited that I can use it now for this Christmas card.

I remember years ago I made a similar Christmas design such as this. But no quilling or rubber stamping designs on it. It was really really simple. It's really funny thinking back now how I did it because I remember not having any glitter glue to decorate the card with, so I had to apply clear glue on the card and sprinkled silver glitters on it. It was a disaster! hahaha! The glitters would drop everywhere. It was a mess. You can check that Christmas card HERE and see for yourself how I did it and compare the difference hehehehe! :D
I enjoyed making this simple Christmas card....especially the quilling part... :). It was easy to think of doing the snowman because the technique is similar to the teddy bear. I just had to change the color that's all. From brown to white :). Added the red ribbon around it's neck and added the black foam hat at the top of it's head and walla! It's done!
I love the "snowflakes" I made using white foam hehehehe! It's so tiny.....I cut it so small to resemble snowflakes falling on the ground. I am making this design for my friends who are celebrating Christmas. Last year, I didn't send any to anyone.....didn't have the time. Hopefully I could send some to my closest friends this year. :)

Pop up Christmas tree!
9:47 PM
HANDMADE
As usual when it comes to making pop up cards, I am always excited! hehehe! This is another pop up design that I have been thinking of doing for quite sometime now. I finally did it in the end. There were a few pop up Christmas tree designs to choose from but I picked to do this one first, mainly because the pop up Christmas tree will match the craft punch Christmas tree design on the card. The pop up Christmas tree was a tough one to make mainly because I had to arrange one by one those tiny craft punch fern leaf on it....with three shades of green color too. I wish I could have glued on more of it to hide the white background but I got tired! LOL! :D
This is the first time I'm using this craft punch as well. I was thinking really hard of how to arrange the small Christmas trees on the card and finally this is what I came up with. It's really simple.....and I place the white flower sequin in between them to symbolize snowflakes heheheh!
Another thing that I would like to mention here is the small white foam squares I arranged one by one around the wordings on the card. I had fun doing that! LOL! It's suppose to symbolize snow but it looks like marshmallow to me! hahaha! Oh well! I still love that bit of design though! :).

Merry Christmas everyone!
3:02 AM
HANDMADE
I just had to post this Christmas card design today before I leave for Alor Setar tomorrow morning!! hehehehe! :D I made it last night......and I got two more to do tonight if my eyes can still open! I'm just so tired but this is something that I just got to do. The cards are for my best buddies.....need to get it sent as soon as possible....before it's too late. Not sure if it will arrive on time, but at least I tried my level best to do it . I guess this is the only Christmas card design I manage to make this year......if I can find the time to do some more after I get back from my hometown then I can post it here. Till then, Merry Christmas everyone! :)

A beaded christmas tree
9:59 PM
HANDMADE
Another Christmas card on my list! :) So excited about it! I've always wanted to do a Christmas tree card with some beads and sequins decorated on it...to add some glitters to it too. Yet again another simple design I made using an A6 size red card to have some contrast on the green tree and also some Christmas spirit to it! I sew on the tree the beads and sequins, LOVE doing that! Ever since I found a way of doing it on paper, I do attempt to use this technique whenever I find it being suitable for a particular design. I just love the effect it gives to the card.
I decorated the background with silver dots to symbolize the snow falling down on the decorated tree. It gives a feeling of cold breeze (the snow) and hotness (the red card) to it! hehehe! The tree itself was made by using two tones of green, lined with some little space between them to create a patterned design. Recently I just love doing that...lining up strips of different colored paper side by side to create a patterned design...kinda meditative to me I suppose to do that hehehe. :D The card could just be left blank or have a simple Christmas message inside. I already have in mind who to give this special Christmas card to ...ooooh can't wait!!!! :D

Glittering snow man
1:05 AM
HANDMADE
A very simple Christmas card of a snow man with a red scarf and red black hat! I used the white strips of paper to make the snow and some snow dots falling down on the snow man. The glitters adds a perfect touch to create an illusion of the sparkling snow.
