Flowers just for you...
11:23 PM
HANDMADE
JFY004
I was actually inspired by the colors of some yarn that my aunt used to make her handphone casings. They were yellow and red in color. So I came up with a quilled flower design using those combination of colors. It's a new type of flower design that I came up with using my imagination....hehehe. :D
I kept the design simple. Nothing much going on, on the card itself. Just concentrating on the flowers and leaves. I did something new for myself with this type of leaves. I've never done anything like this before. And I kinda like it a lot actually. Perhaps you'll see me doing this kind of pattern again and again coz I love how the leaves look here.....it's like flower petals except they are green in color hehee.
The pop up inside the card is simple as well. All I did was just pop up the wordings. I also decorated the background with green leaves that looks like they are falling from the sky hehehe....
Oh! Another thing! See how the stems of the two flowers crossed each other? That is something new for me! And I love it! First time for me to experiment with this technique. I've seen a lot of other quillers doing it so I just wanted to give it a try. At least now I get to cross the stems even though I'm using the quilling technique. I like crossing the stems a lot whenever I do flower designs but I only get to do it with colored pens.....but now, I don't need to worry coz I already know how to achieve that look with quilling. Yay! :)

A remake of JFY002

HANDMADE
Gosh....how long has it been since I last made a "Just For You" card? Pretty long!! hehehe! I have not been making any for a long long time......this year, I received a request to make a birthday card and my customer knew what he wanted already. But....he wanted the card to have the same design as the design I made for this JFY002. So.....that is how the front design will look like.....but the inside would have a pop up flower bouquet with birthday wishes in it. I informed him that it's kinda difficult to do that pop up on a small card because the JFY002 card is only 10.4cm x 14.7 cm. So later he agreed to do it on a bigger card thus how this size of card came about.
To be honest......I am loving this new design much better than the old one because this time I get to use the new materials.....such as glitter glue and foam! Yes! I personally feel that it looks much more better this way. I'm just sharing here the design without the birthday wishes......this is how it looks like before I added the wordings inside. The wordings are kinda personal to my customer so I thought perhaps I just show you guys the basic design. :)

Just for you babe!

This must be one of the card designs that I love but, have to think many many times to do it again. It's because of the paper that I used to make the stems of the flowers. Gosh was it hard to make the flower stalks hug each other like that! :D hahaha LOL! The flower stalks are actually made of crepe paper which I folded and twisted so that it would look like a stalk. The wordings were hand written with a metallic silver pen.....no stamping involved....hehehe.....
This particular card is made from a much softer paper (2 sheet card) :) ....so it's not the usual thick paper that I normally use for my cards.....but I have always loved working with this type of material when I first started designing cards. You could see it in my earlier card collections.
The flowers are actually made using heart shape cut outs, served as petals to form the flowers. I've always love using that idea....in fact I have a few cards which I designed using this similar idea....it's not easy, as I would have to cut the heart shapes out one by one and then gather them together to form the flower. But it can be fun especially if I am in the mood to do it hehehe..... This card has no wordings on the inside, it's left blank for writing on your own personal wishes and it comes with a matching red hot envelope. :)
