Every Teardrop is A Waterfall.

So ... I took a little cat nap in the camper this evening ... with the radio on ... to a station I never listen to ... and I came out of my sleep to hear the most wonderful song ...

... I immediately rose to my feet ... began to dance around the camper ... tears flowing ... arms wrapped around my shoulders in a self embrace ... loving every second of the energy I felt from these words, this music ... and had to share it with you.

Every day is a new day of self-discovery. With this song as my new mantra ... I am on a new path ... an awakening.

This song did not create this new path for me ... but it's timing was total perfection.

Thank you Universe.

Love,
Jodi

My Life Will Never Be the Same Again ...

... it will be way "awesome-er"! ... now that a certain pirate friend of mine has introduced me to some of the best music I have ever heard.

Have you ever heard a song and fallen madly in love with it instantly? I did. And here it is:

NOW - I have been told that I have come to this music very late (it is so 2006) - but better late then never. And now that I have been introduced to this band ... my ears, my hips and my feet are begging for more.

Thank God for YouTube ... as I was able to search for the rest of their music and found instant faves right away. Here is Isaac's fave:

And the thing is ... I have yet to click on a song from this band that doesn't have me moving ... or a video that doesn't have me riveted.

I am blown away. Where have I been for the past 5 years? Oh wait - I have been a Mommy of a pre-schooler all that time - and have been chained to kids' music and videos. But the chains have been lifted! And Isaac and I could party hard to this music all day long. Sure, we LOVE our Dave Matthews, Michael Franti and Wyclef Jean ... but Gogol Bordello? We are in heaven. So, thank you my pirate friend. You have made our world so much more enjoyable.

Perhaps now one of my blog readers has been enlightened as well ;)

You're Welcome.

Love, Jodi & Isaac

For Halis. And You.

Dave Matthews is constantly writing up songs that speak to me or for me. I even told him so once. I met him. I chatted with him and even shared some coffee. Its true. I wish I could say that we are friends ... but that chat was our sole connection. At least so far :) And it was wonderful.

Again - his new album speaks to me. I can't imagine a song written by him that wouldn't. Even Isaac is tuned in to Dave (though his favorite song is Gravedigger - he even loves the video ... which is a whole other story ... as he came to love this song after attending his first funeral and learning about death from Mommy ... its actually a healthy thing ... I swear).

Well - I found this video today (don't know why it took me so long) and realized that it makes me feel happy ... like ... I want to sing it out loud to Halis. It is a love song to be sure ... but it is also greater than that ... the video shows something more ... and I love it ... ENJOY:

(I wish I could embed it, but YouTube won't let me ... brats).

Enjoy the song, video and your weekend. And remember, leave a comment on any post from this week (my birthday week!) and you will be entered into a giveaway for a Bday gift from me.

Love,
Jodi

Songs for Isaac.

Before Isaac finally came home to us, I would sing love songs to him ... in my home and in the car ... as loud as I could ... hoping that the feeling I put into those songs could be felt by him hundreds of miles away. Once upon a time, I would belt these songs out ... through tears and heartache ... waiting for my baby. Now, I sing these songs to him while he is in my arms ... and it feels so damn good. It serves as a reminder that the wait is over. That my baby is home. That all is as it should be ... and that life is good.

Here are a few of those songs ... Enjoy:

Ain't No Mountain High Enough
Falling In Love With You
Moment Made for Worshipping
No Woman No Cry
Mother and Child Reunion
To Zion
Can't Take My Eyes Off You
Joyful Joyful
The Christmas Song (because the Biblical Christmas story, if taken for truth or myth, is the greatest adoption story ever told)

Isaac, take my hand, take my whole life too ... for I can't help falling in love with you.

Love,
Jodi / Mommy

I'm Gonna Do It All ... Someday.

When I first saw the following video, I cried ... remembering myself as a young girl...

When I saw it a second time, I smiled ... knowing she never left me...

May we all get back to the hope, curiosity and unwavering belief in ourselves that we had as little girls. And may we nurture it in each other and in all the children around us...

Love,
Jodi
