Cupcake cards!

HB066

HB067
I got a request from a customer who was interested in my HB010 birthday card. She wanted two of them but in a different color combination. One will be a combination of purple and pink and the other will be a combination of purple and orange. I tried my best to get it right and make it look harmonize.

I did do the design a little differently this time around. I changed and added a few new things in the original design. The icing of the cupcake, I made it using foam. If you look at the original design, I only used paper, a thick paper, because at that time, I didn't even know that the foam existed in the market...hihihihi....and perhaps also, at that time, it was not so widely sold at stationary shops. So I only used a thicker piece of paper for the icing. But now, it's much more fun to use foam :). The lower part of the card, I decorated it with strips of colored paper of different color combination to fill up the empty space at the bottom. In the original design, I decorated it with gold dots. I think these changes are better than the original. At least I would like to think they are hihihihi! I love them...very simple and sweet! :)

Confetti!

HB027

Last Sunday I went to the hypermarket and saw some really interesting looking confetti sold there......I thought it would be cool to buy some for me to use for my new birthday card designs.....I finally had the chance to try them out today. The confetti are very thin but not so fragile and I find the thickness of it similar to some type of sequins I find in the craft store. So it's easy enough to work with. I just love the wordings as it does come in a variety of colours but the balloons and stars are only available in gold colour.....but it's ok, I love them anyways. It sparkles and shines really nicely on the card. Can't wait to use them again for another birthday card design soon! :) As you can see the card comes with a soft pink handmade envelope and is left blank on the inside for writing on personal wishes.

Cupcake for your sweetheart!

V007

I really enjoyed making this cute cupcake card! Maybe because it looks delicious! hehehe! :) The pattern is a bit different from the cupcake card I made before and much more fun to do as well...I LOVE putting on the glitters on the pink icing on top with the tiny heart shapes that I made using textured paper...it kinda reminds me of strawberries...hehehe...because of the color and texture of the paper. :) I get hungry looking at this card! Yikes! :D

A birthday cupcake

HB010

This card comes with a matching red handmade envelope.

This view shows the inside of the card, with the beige color paper insert.

I am pretty excited about this cupcake card. It's my first attempt at making cards using cupcake as a subject. I love using the gold glitters on the icing of the cupcake....so much fun doing that! And a cherry on top with a birthday wish stuck in the cupcake! :) More cupcake cards to come soon! :)
